Patterns of FaceBook scammers
It is very easy to spot ’em if you know where to look
A. Want to be friend
- Being too friendly, will immediately come online and ask all sorts of questions, where are you from, have you eaten, what’s your job etc etc; usually posed as a student working part time, with the ultimate intention to offer “service”
- Father British mother Chinese (because you are one of these types)
- Ultimately asking to add to your whatsapp or wechat or line account
B. Related to money
- Offer you investment advice — bitcoin mining or trading or forex with “guaranteed return” — chatting through whatsapp; or “buy Hong Kong stock together” — chatting through wechat
- Those that offer to buy your old coins/notes
- Money from Syria/middle east that will come to you via diplomatic box
- Inheritance from a third party sitting in an international bank and asking you to be the next of kin
- Mother who cannot conceive — hence need money for some kind of fertility treatment
- Help a widow to buy food for her children; and to build a house
Just unfriend and block them the moment you can detect an agenda to ask you to give them $
Because real persons who are poor and who are good never ask you for money!
Process
Once you start any of the schemes to give the person money, it will never end. The process comes in just two parts:
A. You start something with a counter party that you love
B. If you don’t complete the process (which will increase in stake and seems closer to completion), you will hurt the person that you love.
No need to test. Just be selfish and flee
And keep your family involved/informed of your ongoing chat with any of these people.
Flee from the person. You don’t have to prove anything. You don’t need to care for that person.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
May God protect you.
